This term the children in Fox Class have been making some interesting discoveries in their outdoor classroom. They have discovered two enormous footprints, some magic beans and a letter from a giant!
This term’s theme of ‘Growing and Changing’ has sparked the children’s curiosity and imagination leading to high levels of engagement and enthusiasm for learning. It has been so exciting to see how all our Reception children are gaining confidence with literacy – practising the skills of blending and segmenting as they read and write their own books, compose letters, lists and recipes. The children are also getting out and about in the local community – they have visited Rectory Woods, bought fruit at the local market and this week they visited the florists in Church Stretton. All over the classroom and at forest school, seeds and beans are sprouting!
Children are investigating growth and change in real contexts, asking questions and making new discoveries. Exciting times!
